Founder & Executive Director, Kelley Saunders
Kelley Saunders is a dynamic force behind "Elevating Transitioning Service Members (ETS)," serving as Founder and Executive director of the ETS organization. With a proven track record in project management and strategic planning, Kelley brings a unique blend of expertise to the leadership team.
With a background as a Project Manager at PwC and extensive experience in leadership roles across various industries, including their tenure as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Kelley possesses a keen understanding of organizational dynamics and a passion for driving positive change. His visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of ETS, forging partnerships with renowned organizations like Mercedes-Benz Headquarters, National Black MBA Association and PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC) to support transitioning service Members' journey into civilian life.
Kelley's dedication to serving others and his unwavering commitment to equality and equity make him a driving force behind ETS's mission. As the Executive Director, Kelley is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where transitioning service members can thrive, ensuring that no hero is left behind in their journey towards a brighter future.

Co-Founder Director of Community Outreach & Communications, Elizabeth Payne
Elizabeth Payne is a Creative Business Professional, co-founder and the Director of Community and Corporate Outreach at Elevate Transitioning Servicemembers, Inc. (ETS). With an extensive background in military healthcare administration, project management, and creative consulting, Elizabeth brings a diverse set of skills and experiences to the organization. Her current role in Sales & Customer Experience at Lush Cosmetics has honed her ability to forge meaningful connections and build a strong community network.
Elizabeth’s innovative approach and strategic vision are central to her efforts at ETS, where she is passionate about championing initiatives such as personal branding, digital footprint development, and creative entrepreneurial support for veterans. Her focus on cultivating a robust network enhances her ability to support ETS’s initiatives and drive impactful change for veterans.
As a former U.S. Army Non-Commissioned Officer, Elizabeth possesses a profound understanding of the challenges faced by transitioning servicemembers. Her personal experience of transitioning during the global pandemic fuels her unwavering dedication to supporting fellow veterans in their new pursuits. Elizabeth’s commitment to service extends beyond her professional role, as evidenced by her volunteer work with local organizations. She is dedicated to ensuring that every transitioning service member has the resources and support needed for a successful civilian life, embodying ETS’s mission to empower service members throughout their journey.

Co-Founder & Director of Government Relations, Merlin Knight
Merlin Knight serves as the Vice President of Member Development and Engagement at the Greater South Fulton Chamber of Commerce, a role he has held for the past five years. Currently residing in Decatur, Georgia, Merlin has been instrumental in the Chambers mission which aims to foster growth, education, religious, and economic development across all eight cities in the Greater South Fulton area.
Mr. Knight serves in board membership roles with the Regional Business Coalition of Metropolitan Atlanta, the Metro South Community Improvement District, and the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance. He presently serves as the Director of Governmental Affairs for Elevate Transitioning Servicemembers Inc. a nonprofit organization focused on helping returning veterans transition to a successful civilian life.
With over 20 years of experience in the solid waste industry, Merlin has successfully navigated various challenges, culminating in his current role guiding the Greater South Fulton Chamber of Commerce towards growth and visibility. Under his leadership, the Chamber membership has expanded to over 600 members, boasting an impressive retention rate even during the pandemic challenges.
Merlin is actively involved in numerous civic and non-profit organizations, including serving as President of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter for Bethune Cookman University, Chair for Sea Born Lee Governance Council, and various roles within the 100 Black Men organization. Additionally, Mr. Knight is the owner of a dynamic waste valet business established in 2018.

Director of Legal Affairs, Brandon Crum
Brandon Crum began his collegiate journey at Coahoma College before earning the prestigious Academic Excellence Scholarship from Alabama State University (ASU). While at ASU, Brandon demonstrated his passion for cultural innovation by founding organizations such as Gifted Gardeners, the National Association for Blacks in Criminal Justice, and the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society. His leadership extended to the ASU Student Government Association, where he served as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and later as Chief Golden Ambassador.
In addition to his academic achievements, Brandon is deeply committed to serving the veteran community. Through his work with ETS, Brandon has leveraged his legal expertise to advocate for veterans and provide critical support. His dedication to the veteran community is evident in his efforts to create impactful programs and partnerships that address the unique challenges faced by veterans. Brandon's commitment to service, combined with his background in legal affairs, positions him as a key advocate and leader within the veteran community.
